BITS OF OUR HOLIDAYS

Hi there!!
How are you?

I just wanted to share a few moments with you through a few photos and words.

These are a couple of images from our Christmas day. We had presents in the morning, where the most happy one was Ilianna and a nice meal in the early afternoon.

It is nice sharing these days with family, there is a lot of good moments, laughing, memories. ... and sometimes there is words, memories or a simple meal that brings or causes an argument.
What do we do in that case?
Well, sometimes there is nothing that we can really do but accept that bizarre moment as it is and let it go without judgment.

Every time we are in Catalonia we like to collect our water from this spring water source, it's located in Arbúcies a beautiful little town only ten minutes away from my parents place.

Ilianna enjoys her playtime outdoors and it seems like she is not the only one enjoying :)

I have finally finished the Rainbow blanket I was making for my little fairy, she was happy and I am very pleased with the final result.

My best wishes for the New Year.

Remember to let behind what you don't want with you anymore  and take all what you still want for this New Year.

Be very happy!
See you all next year ;)

HOLIDAYS. .. FAMILY AND FRIENDS TIME

Hi, how are you doing these days?
The last Thursday we started our trip to Catalonia to spend holidays with my family. It's always an exciting and lovely time and since Ilianna was born she is the only grandchild so, as you can imagine the reunion it's even more emotive.

That was the beginning of our trip inside the train that goes through the channel tunnel between United Kingdom and France. then eleven hours of driving until Catalonia.

This is Arbúcies a town where years ago I used to live, my parents live just 10 minutes away from it so, I go to visit any time I can, it's a really lovely place and I have some friends that live there.

This year's Christmas Tree, Ilianna is in love with it :)

This is Ilianna's Tió, it's a typical Christmas character  in Catalonia you can find more information if you would like to know more about it  here

Last night it was the Winter Solstice, also known as Yule. Did you celebrate it at all? We did a little kind of ritual, nothing special just being aware of this moment of time.

The Winter Solstice, the rebirth of the Sun, is an important turning point, as it marks the shortest day, when the hours of daylight are at their least. It's also the start of the increase in the hours of daylight until the Summer Solstice, when darkness becomes ascendant again.

For me it's very important not to lose this connection with the wheel of the year because as it marks the movement of nature with its different seasons it helps me to understand the different rhythms in my body.
With the Winter Solstice our homes scents become more spicy and warm, the brightness of the fire it gives a different light to our rooms making you feel more comfortable being indoors, when the cold and darkness are the only ones who dare being outdoors.

How do you feel in Winter, do you like the way everything turns around you? Does your body changes its rhythm with this season?
Let me know about it if you would like, leaving a comment below.

Hope you enjoyed the Solstice!
Merry Christmas everyone!

Be very happy!

See you all soon

CHRISTMAS MARKET

Hi there!! how are you doing?
Are you stressing out planning this Christmas?

It is a bit of a chaotic time, even for those like us that are not deep into the buying and buying and buying again, you can not really help but get into a bit of a  frenetic rhythm, above all when you visit cities, or any other crowded place with windows full of bright and different items.

Today as every year that we can, we have visited The Manchester Christmas Market. We have found out today that is the number 1 in the UK and number 4 in Europe, it's quite ok, isn't it?

It really is nice, all the lights, the stalls full of different and beautiful things. The smell of food and hot chocolate from the different stalls going around you and making you feel warm in an evening where the wet weather and temperature weren't the warmest thing around.
I really love markets specially at this time of year, when the colorful and bright lights make them such a magical places to walk around.

We say bye to Manchenchester city with a grateful feeling in our hearts after spending a few hours around its streets, surrounded by old and beautiful buildings with lots of stories falling from its walls, new and sharp other buildings breaking the darkness of the sky with its highness. .. Although I am not a city person, I do enjoy now and again the city atmosphere, the fast rhythm, the noise. .. Because when cities talk, there is a lot of stories to listen at.

What are you doing these days?
Are you shopping a lot?

Whatever you are doing don't forget to breath and be happy.

See you soon!

MY MAIN THOUGHT THIS WEEK

Hi there! How are you doing? Are you keeping warm? I hope you are, because the days around here are getting quite chilly.

The week is finished and besides planning our Christmas holidays with my family in Catalonia, another subject that has kept my head busy is the breastfeeding matter.

I breastfeed my daughter and I like it and love it because it was my decision since I knew I would be giving her the best thing you can give and because the bond between us it's just amazing. For me breastfeeding  it's the most natural thing in the world and it's a right for the mother and child and it shouldn't even be an issue for debate regarding wether it's ok to do it in a public place, I have seen comments around the net saying that mothers breastfeeding in public should have consideration but, consideration about what? Feeding a baby human being is something to be considered about?  I don't think so.

But there is a problem in our society and is that woman's body is over sexualised and considered as an item to be used for profit. And obviously if all the mothers would decide to breastfeed their babies, what would it happened with the pharmaceutical companies and the formula milk business?

So yes this week my head has been busy thinking about that and the time that was somewhere else. ..

It was here, between yarn and needles trying to keep it secret, I don't know if the secret will be kept for so long, but I will try my best.

So for today the week is gone I'll be soon ready for bed and dreaming about the new week starting tomorrow.

I'll see you all soon!
Be happy and keep warm.
